Activities
The Burnaby Lake Park Association offers programs for nature lovers all year round.
Nest Box Program
January to March
Come out and lend a helping hand to our feathered friends:
- Clean & repair nest boxes
- Monitor & record nest box activity
- Learn to identify bird species
If you want to make nest boxes for your own use, you can use our nest box designs!
Butterfly Garden
April to October
If you're an enthusiastic gardener you can volunteer with the master gardeners by lending a hand with planting, weeding and watering our wonderful butterfly garden at the Burnaby Lake Nature House.
Free Public Nature Walks
We host 2 free nature walks each year,
one in June to celebrate environment
week and a Christmas walk in
December. Come out and learn more
about the beautiful flora and fauna in
the park. Then join us for refreshments.
Weedbusters
March to October
Roll up your sleeves and join the Weedbusters, Metro Vancouver, and other volunteers to remove Scotch Broom, Policeman’s Helmet and English Ivy.
Bioblitz
Join local scientists and blitz through Burnaby Lake Regional Park counting as many different species as you can. Check out the Burnaby Lake BioBlitz website.
