The Burnaby Lake Park Association offers programs for nature lovers all year round.
If you would like to help us in our stewardship activities, check out our Volunteer Page.
January to February
Come out and lend a helping hand to our feathered friends:
- Clean & repair nest boxes
- Monitor & record nest box activity
- Learn to identify bird species
April to October
If you’re an enthusiastic gardener you can volunteer with the master gardeners by lending a hand with planting, weeding and watering our wonderful butterfly garden at the Burnaby Lake Nature House.
March to October
Be a champion for native plants! Tackle invasive species: non-native plants that have become established and replaced native species. Join the Burnaby Lake Park Association in removing English ivy, policeman’s helmet, and Scotch broom from around Burnaby Lake. Be prepared to work off-trail in the woods.
Check our Event Listings for upcoming sessions.

We host 2 free nature walks each year, one in June to celebrate environment week and a Christmas walk in December. Come out and learn more about the beautiful flora and fauna in the park. Then join us for refreshments.
