BLPA Annual General Meeting 2020 – Virtual

This year, due to COVID-19 situation, the Burnaby Lake Park Association will be holding a virtual Annual General Meeting online using Zoom.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, you are invited to join us virtually at 7:00 PM PDT as we highlight some of the BLPA’s activities over the past year as well as well as take care of some required society business.
Existing BLPA members will be contacted by our coordinator with meeting link, agenda and supporting documents.

While all our volunteers and community members are invited to attend. only members will be allowed to vote.

ZOOM MEETING TIPS
This meeting will be held on the Zoom platform. Here are some tips for joining. Check them out in advance of the start time to ensure you are able to join the AGM on time.
Do you need an account to use Zoom?
A Zoom account is not required to join the Summit.
What do I need to join the AGM?
You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone to join the Summit – we recommend using a computer if you have the option. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email that will contain your unique Zoom link, meeting ID and a password to join – do not share this with anyone. If you cannot find your Zoom meeting confirmation(s), check your junk email. If you still can’t find the confirmation(s), email info@burnabylakepark.ca to request the Zoom joining instructions.
Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the Zoom app from the Download Center. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click the join link.
If you are using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari to join a meeting, you will see a dialog box to launch the Zoom application.
In Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, you can choose to always open links with Zoom, but this is not currently supported in Safari.

We suggest you join a test meeting to familiarise yourself with Zoom and test your connection.

How do I join the AGM?
Join the AGM by clicking the Zoom meeting link or going to join.zoom.us and entering in the meeting ID. The AGM will start in Zoom at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. If you join before those times you get to hang out in the Zoom waiting room until the event starts. If you are late, don’t worry, you can still join!
Are you having issues with the Zoom Launcher plug-in?
On some occasions where the plugins may not be activated, disabled or may not be correctly installed, or installed correctly but failed to run. There are several things you can do to fix it: Check if the Zoom launcher plugin is enabled (re-enable if it was disabled)
Google Chrome
In the address bar, enter chrome://plugins/ or chrome://extensions/ on later versions of Chrome.
Where it lists “zoom.us launcher plugin” make sure it is enabled and always allowed.
Mozilla Firefox
In the address bar, enter https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Click on Tools menu > Addons> Plugins and make sure that “Zoom Launcher” is always activate
Safari
Safari no longer supports most plug-ins. You will need to choose to launch Zoom each time.
