Summer Sundays with the BLPA – August edition

Get outside and get connected to Nature!

The Burnaby Lake Park Association will be “popping up” in the park this summer

Meet us in front of the Nature House on Sunday, August 11. We’ll be there with our display to answer your questions about the the plants and wildlife you will find in the park, what the BLPA does and how you can get involved.

Ask one of our volunteers about how to use the most popular nature apps. Learn what you can do to keep birds safe and about the Bird Friendly City Certification program.

We’re also offering the following guided outings:

Space is limited and registration is required. Please click the links above for more information and to register.

See you in the park!

Sharing Burnaby Lake Trails with Horses

Did you know?

There are horse stables at the east end of Burnaby Lake Regional Park. That means, from time to time, you may encounter horse(s) and rider(s) on the trails. Our friends from the Burnaby Horsemen’s Association have shared these tips so all 2- and 4-legged trail users can be safe!

The Burnaby Horsemen’s Association (BHA) is a registered non-profit, located on the edge of Burnaby Lake Park. The club was founded in 1968 and the land is generously leased from the City of Burnaby. The Association is governed by a rotating volunteer Board of Directors (who are all members). The maintenance, upkeep and daily operations are all run by volunteer club members.  With three barns, the BHA is home to up to 59 horses, who are independently owned and cared for. The site includes an indoor arena, three outdoor arenas, and a round pen.
