It was long, weary winter and a very wet Spring so far. We’re hoping all those April showers are resulting in some gorgeous May flowers with more blue skies and warmer days ahead. We’ll be at the annual City of Burnaby Rhodofest on Sunday with information about invasive species, nest boxes and our activities at Burnaby Lake Regional Park. The forecast is for a sunny warm day – See you there!

Eagle Creek begins on Burnaby Mountain where it is fed by a large watershed, runs through Montecito and the nearby Squint Lake, through Burnaby Mountain Golf Course, culverted under Broadway and Lougheed Highway, runs through Charles Rummel Park, along Warner Loat Park to Burnaby Lake. Salmon are a native part of Eagle Creek’s ecosystem. The members of the Eagle Creek Streamkeeper Society protect, preserve and enhance the Eagle Creek watershed habitat, through environmental education and volunteer involvement. The Rocky Mountain Soap Women’s Run/Walk was initially started in Canmore,to create safe, fun and inclusive events for women while supporting charitable organizations both culturally and financially. Rocky Mountain Soap handcrafts soaps, lotions, oils and other personal body care products with 100% natural, organic, and non-gmo ingredients.
The Burnaby Lake Park Association will be doing community outreach at this great event on Sunday, July 10 at the Burnaby Lake Sports Fields by helping with recycling/composting and an information table about the BLPA and the park.
