Sorry about the delay in bringing the BLPA website back to its former glory. It was hacked and selling stuff. With vacation and work it has taken this long to get at it.
The events calendar is incomplete at the moment and some of the pictures are not showing up quite correctly. We hope to have that remedied in the next couple of days.
This year at our BLPA Annual Open House on Sunday, December 7, we are collecting non-perishable items for our friends at WRA Wildlife Rescue Association of BC. There are some household items you may have that you were putting aside to donate anyway. Do your pre-holiday home clean up – the animals and WRA will be thankful!
You will also get an extra entry into our door prize draw!
Cleaning supplies
Laundry detergent, hand soap, (unscented), Dish soap
Eco stewardship activities are happening across several Metro Vancouver Regional Parks on Saturday, October 25th, 2014.
Join the Weedbusters from the Burnaby Lake Park Association to remove invasive English ivy at Burnaby Lake Regional Park. We are meeting at the Avalon Entrance parking lot (9100 Avalon Avenue Burnaby), at 10 am.
The Weedbusters have been hard at work over the years making great progress at ridding the park of ivy and other invasive plants. We will be working in a forested area near the Brunette River, tackling one of the remaining patches of ivy in the park. Wear sturdy footwear as we’ll be stepping off the trails, and dress appropriate for the weather conditions of the day. Gloves, tools, and snacks will all be provided, just bring your enthusiasm and industrious attitude!
This is a great opportunity for your local community group to come out and contribute to your local environment with others who care about the park. Scouts, Guides, Church, work groups – get in touch with us at the email below.
We look forward to seeing you next Saturday. We will have West Coast cookies from Thrifty Foods, organic apples from a Langley farm and native plant seedlings to give-away from NATS.
To ensure we have enough goodies and equipment, just let us know you’re coming:
