BPL: Author Visit with Fernando Lessa: Urban Salmon

September 16, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Celebrate Science Literacy Week at Burnaby Public Library!

From September 16 – 22, Burnaby Public Library will feature a variety of free and fun events promoting science literacy for all ages. Programs, workshops, and movie showings will reflect this year’s national Science Literacy Week theme: Oceans!

Find out more about Science Literacy Week from the official nationwide website, which is powered by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

In support of Science Literacy Week come and discover Fernando Lessa’s beautiful underwater photography of our urban salmon runs, including Burnaby’s Stoney creek and Brunette River. Learn ho we can maintain our streams and creeks so salmon will continue to come back and spawn. 2019 is also the International Year of the Salmon!

Copies of Fernando’s book Urban Salmon will be available for purchase.

Register online, at any branch or call 604-522-3971.
