Weedbusters 2019-3

June 9, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Be a champion for native plants!

Please note change in our usual meeting time.

Join us in tackling and removing invasive species: non-native plants that have become established and replaced native species around Burnaby Lake.

We’ll provide gloves, tools, and snacks. Dress for the weather, solid footwear for uneven or marshy terrain, and possibly trekking through brush to get to a work site. Ages 8+.

This is a special session as part of Wild About Burnaby Lakewhich we are co-hosting with Metro Vancouver Regional Parks and the City of Burnaby. This event shows how people can bring a little more nature to their lives, even right in the middle of the city.

There will be a meeting location between Avalon parking lot and the Cariboo Dam (more details soon.). We will be preparing the area known as Lenson Field by removing invasive species in the area  in preparation for planting during the October EcoBlitz events. Take a break and visit the exhibits.

To keep up to date with any changes, please check our social media and website closer to the date where we will have the latest news with any changes (e.g. due to weather or things beyond our control).

Let us know if you're coming with a quick RSVP in the form below or send an email to info@burnabylakepark.ca. This helps us organise and plan for refreshments. For more information or to arrange for a group to attend, contact Ann at the email above.
