Weedbusters 2017-8

Join us as we continue to make progress at the Piper Spit Riparian area. We will continue to remove any invasive plants that we missed earlier in the season and also spread mulch in preparation for planting at the EcoBlitz on October 22.

Come prepared for the weather and wear sturdy footwear as we will be working off the trails. Wear long sleeves and pants to protect yourself from the blackberry thorns. Gloves, tools, equipment and refreshments provided.

Be a Champion for Native Plants!

May has been proclaimed Invasive Species Action Month in BC. Take positive action against invasive species. Learn all about native and invasive plants and animals, and how to tell them apart.

Join the Burnaby Lake Park Association in tackling and removing invasive species: non-native plants that have become established and replaced native species around Burnaby Lake. We’ll provide gloves, tools, and snacks. Dress for the weather and be prepared to work off-trail in the woods. Join us! Ages 8+
